The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) assists war refugees.

KIA formed a committee to assist war refugees who have fled the fighting between Burmese troops and KIA mostly to Laiza, KIA controlling area, and some across the border to China. The committee is responsible distributing food and small amounts of medicine donated by local villages. However, they are still in need of food, shelter and medical assistance.
